FAQ

Q: I have a friend who decided to come last minute. Can they purchase a ticket on the day of the event?

A: Yes, they can either purchase at the main entrance or come to the Tiger Parking lot with you as a guest and we will help them purchase. Remember, when purchasing at the table, more funds go to the PLAN program as part of the fundraiser!

Q: Where do I get our tickets for the carousel?

A: There will be an announcement made after the program for anyone who would like tickets to ride.

Q: Do I need to have cash for parking?

A: No, parking is included in the cost of your ticket. No one should be accepting payment in parking lots.

Q: Can I bring my own food?

A: Yes, outside food and drinks are permitted; no glass or straws.

Q: What happens if I want to come early to get the most out of my time at the zoo?

A: There are not PLAN tickets at will call at the main entrance so the earliest we recommend coming is 12:30pm. If you are doing that, but please let Ruth know in advance.

Q: How much are raffle tickets?

A: They will be $5 each, no limit. We will draw the winners of the $100 gift cards and more at 2:15pm.

Q: Will I be required to wear a mask under the pavilion?

A: It is highly recommended, but it will not be required as this is an outdoor event space. We will leave this up to our guests.

Q: Will this event happen rain or shine?

A: Yes! The pavilion we are renting does have a covering.

Q: How will I get to the private pavilion?

A: Shuttles will be available to us from 12:30pm to 2:00pm to take you from the Tiger parking lot to the pavilion. After 2:00pm, we’ll have one shuttle at our service until 4:00pm.

Q: I'm concerned about walking long distances around the Zoo. What are my options?

A: Wheelchairs are available to rent for $15, or motorized wheelchairs with a canopy for $32.  Please call the park ahead and let them know 469.554.7500.

Q: What about if I'm too far away from the pavilion and I didn't rent a wheelchair in advance?

A: The Zoo has “Guest Service Ambassadors” available throughout the park (wearing Guest Service shirts) who can call a “courtesy shuttle,” should you find yourself unable to get back to the exit, pavilion, or car.

Q: So what is this special animal encounter?

A:  We will have an opportunity to have an animal brought out to our pavilion to meet. We don't know what it is yet, but will send information closer to the event. This special encounter will happen at 2:30pm on the day of our event.

Q: Will I get a map mailed to me?

A: The Zoo does not print maps anymore, everything is virtual.   We do plan to have printed maps available on site at the paviiion.  We will also send a digital copy closer to the event date via email.

Parking & Driving Directions from Southbound on I-35:

Take the Ewing Ave. / Marsalis Ave. exit (Exit 426). Go through the light at Ewing Ave., move to the left lane, and use the U-turn for easy access to the I-35 northbound frontage road.

Pass the main entrance to the Zoo just under the giant giraffe, and continue down to Clarendon Drive. Make a right on Clarendon and drive down, passing other entrances until you see the long “overflow parking lot” with a sign for Tiger Parking Lot. Park and walk towards the building, registration tables will be at that entrance.

By DART:

Consider taking DART Red Line or ride shares to avoid parking and traffic.

Take the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) RED LINE to the Dallas Zoo Station.
